    What Is Korean Banana Milk 

    Banana Mat Uyu (바나나맛우유) means banana flavored milk in the Korean language. Binggrae introduced this banana-flavored milk in 1974, which became famous. They packaged the banana milk in the shape of a traditional Korean jar (hangari). Now it is available in small milk cartons and juice boxes. They sell over 800,000 of these tetra paks daily.

    What Does Korean Banana Milk Taste Like?

    Korean banana milk tastes like banana-flavored milk with a hint of vanilla and a touch of sweetness. This Binggrae milk drink has a smooth, silky, creamy texture with perfect consistency. 

    Is Korean Banana Milk Healthy?

    You bet! Homemade banana milkshake is healthy and packed with health benefits. It is rich in Vitamin A, C, D and B12, Patssium and 3g of protein. The best part is that you can optimize it with the desired sweetness.

    This delicious drink is much healthier with just four natural ingredients than the store-bought version. 

    Binggrae milk ingredients include milk, water, sugar, skim milk powder, why powder, banana juice concentrate(0.32%)[Banana(100%)], artificial flavours, mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, carrageenan, guar gum, annatto(for colour), etc. These ingredients prolong shelf life. 

    Where Can You Buy the Original Korean Banana Milk?

    You can purchase Binggrae Banana Flavor Milk at your local Korean grocers and convenience store. Some large non-Korean Korean grocery stores will also carry it, depending on where you live.

    Ingredients and Substitutes

    Making homemade Binggrae banana milk is a great way to incorporate fruits and sneak in the pulp. Just puree the fruit with the milk of choice and add enough maple syrup or raw honey naturally sweeten the deal!  

    Completely natural without preservatives, dyes or additives!

    Fresh Bananas - Use a ripe banana for the best-concentrated banana flavour. Overripe bananas with black spots are sweeter naturally, too!

    Milk of Choice - If you follow a vegan, plant-based or vegetarian diet, choose your favourite dairy-free milk, such as oat, coconut, soy, or almond milk. I prefer oat milk for its neutral profile. For non-vegans, regular milk or whole milk are good alternatives.

    Sugar - White granulated sugar, brown sugar, or monk fruit sugar replacement. Maple syrup is a great vegan sweetener. Keep in mind; honey is not vegan.

    Pure Vanilla Extract - Use pure vanilla extract or vanilla paste with seeds. 

    Water - Adding water to the recipe is only necessary if it comes out to a thicker consistency than usual. Add a tablespoon of cold drinking water until desired viscosity.

    Ice - Adding ice cubes to your beverage will make it more refreshing! 

    Whipped Cream - add your choice of whipped cream as a fun topping! Optional but highly recommended!

    Instructions

    This Vegan Korean Banana Milk is as easy to make as peeling a banana with a splash of plant-based milk, vanilla extra and sugar.

    Add the main ingredients to a high-powered blender like Vitamix. Blend until creamy and silky smooth.

    Best served chilled with ice cubes in a pretty tall glass cup if desired. 

    Top with whipped cream!

    How To Store Homemade Banana Smoothie

    We suggest serving banana smoothies immediately as they will start to oxidize and turn brown.

    What To Serve With The Best Korean Banana Milkshake

      Oh funny! I just this a version of a banana milkshake for the kid that looks similar but with regular milk. I never saw the vanilla paste with seeds, and I'm so intrigued now! Going to need to upgrade my boring vanilla extract. Lovely drink for the whole family!

      My 'very grown up' kid loves those little banana milk tetra packs I get from the A-mart and T & T. LOL Last week he was here fixing up his Jeep (a never ending project!) so I decided to use up a few of my many distressed bananas from the freezer and make this for him. He loved it! This is a keeper for young kids and kids at heart.

      This banana milk drink is so delicious! I have been trying to eat a bit more healthy which can be hard when you love sweets like ice cream. I made this instead of reaching for ice cream and it satisfied my sweet tooth in a healthier way then the ice cream would have!
