Dragon View Chinese Cuisine is one of the good wedding venues in Richmond for Chinese style wedding banquets It is also one of my favorite dim sum hang outs. It is affiliated with Wah Wing in Coquitlam but the food here on a higher caliber. It is located in Continental Plaza where Pearl Castle 圓香茶坊, Yuu Japanese Tapas, Gyo-O, Deer Garden Signature and Sing Yee Chinese Restaurant also reside. The interior is brightly lit, several LED TV’s throughout and friendly and attentive services.

Cold Appetizer Platter 乳豬拼盤 : A nice mix of cured meats, roasted pork hock, jelly fish, smoked salmon.

Breaded Crab Claw 蟹拑: Minced shrimp and wrapped in crab claw and deep fried to golden perfection. Inside is juicy with a generous sized claw with crab meat (beware it is extremely hot)!.

Medley of Scallops, Geoduck, Clam and Seasonal Greens 花蚌, 帶子: The sweetness of geoduck (I’m not sure what 花蚌 is in English) and scallops are brought out by the freshness of green peas. Lightly stirred fried and sauteed in garlic and chives.

Sharks Fin Soup 魚翅: I really don’t care what you all think or say. Shark Fin Soup is one of best Chinese delicacies and refined soup for centuries. It is one of the most expensive soup in the world (for a very well made one anyways). The texture is somewhat chewy and elastic. On its own shark fin is rather tasteless, but when absorbed and mixed into the soup: chicken stock, chinese ham, chinese mushroom, bamboo shoots, etc. It is heavenly. The mixture of acidity and creaminess of the broth creates a sensation on your palate. Mix in some vinegar if you prefer a more tart taste.

Lobster 龍蝦: Sauteed lobster. Fresh.

Chinese Mushroom and Abalone Slices and Vegetables 鲍片: I love Chinese mushrooms and the earthy flavor. Abalone slices from a can is the mushy side.

Squab 乳鴿: Crispy skin and tender juicy meat. It is saltier than duck or chicken but it is very meaty.

Steamed Rock Cod 魚: The best way to serve fish is the steam it and served with a splash of hot oil, soy, and green onions. It is the sweetness that brings out the freshness of the fish.

E-Mein Noodles 伊麵: Standard soy stir fried with chinese mushrooms.

Cream and Tomato Sauce Rice 炒飯: Standard rice dish found at the end of any Chinese wedding.

Dessert Cookie Platter 美點雙輝: Sesame Red Bean Paste rolls, Almond cookies. Each neither too sweet or too floury.

Red Been Soup 糖水: A copious amount of red beans, lotus, etc. It is thick and not watered down.
