Marutama Ramen Vancouver has a deep chicken soup that is rich and cloudy. You can taste the difference in the rich umami savory taste in Marutama Ramen’s broth. The complexity of the soup flavors are built with heat, bones and time. All their ramen noodles are handmade in house. The noodles are thin like angel hair pasta. It is firm and silky.
Marautama Ramen isn’t very big inside and often you will find a line up outside. There are about 20-25 seats in the restaurant (half of them at the counters). The wait usually isn’t too long since their turnover is quite high.
MARUTAMA TAMAGO RAMEN 10.50: Soft-boiled Flavored Egg comes in mild and spicy broth. Both chicken soup are very good. The spicy broth is distinct and lingers. The chashu is tender and soft with decent fat ratio. The onsen tamago egg is creamy and perfectly soft boiled. Each ramen comes with plenty of aosa seaweed and green onions. The best part is their fried garlic flakes made available at each table. We seriously could not get enough of this.
If you are still hungry. $1.25 Kae-dama will get you super-sized for extra noodles to me served near the end. Remember to save yourself some soup.
Marutama is definitely putting up a good fight to be one of the best ramen noodle in Vancouver.
