Amarula Cream Liqueur Spiked Chai Spice Ice Cream Parfait is just the dessert you are looking for. Enjoy it any time of day, to end date night at home, girls’ sleepover, post-dessert dessert, brunch, etc. It’s deliciously decadent, sophisticated yet easy to toss together - all with a grown-up kick!
The flavours of the sweet Amarula Cream Liqueur is smooth, nutty with notes of vanilla, caramel and exotic, natural Marula fruit which pairs beautifully with the exotic profile of Chai spices. The creamy drink is delicious on its own or when added to this scoopable, milky, sweet chai no-churn ice cream dessert layered with crushed waffle cones, chocolate cake, and caramel sauce! The possibilities are endless.
Whether you are reading this post during the dog days of summer or the chilly wintertime, you can enjoy this fancy (but easy to assemble) treat anytime!

What is Amarula Cream Liqueur?
Amarula Cream Liqueur is made from exotic, natural Marula fruit, which is harvested from Marula trees that grow wild in the subequatorial regions of Africa.
The Marula fruit is harvested just once a year at the end of Africa’s summer, when the scent attracts the elephants from the surrounding areas that come to feast on the fruit, hence, that is why the Marula is also known as the “Elephant Tree.” This organic fruit is handpicked, fermented, distilled, and aged for 2 years in aged French oak casks.
Amarula, the original Marula-based alcoholic drink, was first launched as a clear spirit in 1983. In 1989, the cream was added to the Marula-based spirit changing it to a cream liqueur we know today.
Amarula is a gift from the marula tree made to be shared, mixed, and savoured this holiday season. With the holidays just around the corner, it is the perfect time to share a bottle of sweet, velvety caramel liqueur as a hostess gift or simply enjoy at home in your spiked coffee or ice-cream parfait!
For BC residents, Amarula Cream Liqueur is available in 375ml and 750ml bottles and is the perfect stocking stuffer! Gift packs are also available at BC Liquor Stores with two stemless glasses!

What Goes Into A Parfait?
I love Parfaits because it has a little bit of everything. I love all the different textures. There is something sweet. It is crunchy from the layers of cereal, waffle cones, and nuts, etc. Then there is the wow factor from the whipped cream, caramel syrup, seasonal fruits, and your favourite cream liqueur!
Assembling a Parfait
- Enjoy this classic dessert in a tall glass.
- Get the fillers: chocolate chip cakes, brownies, waffle cones, crushed nuts, or cereal.
- Whipped cream
- Caramel syrup
- Your favourite cream liqueur – we love Amarula Cream Liqueur
- Your favourite ice cream
- Make several layers alternating between ingredients.

How to Make No-Churn Chai Spiced Ice Cream
Spicy, creamy, sweet chai is one of my favourite black teas. Infusing all the wonderful exotic chai tea spices into an ice cream simply makes it super delicious. This homemade no-churn chai-spiced ice cream is velvety and super easy to make!
Here are all those wonderful chai tea spices used. Alternatively, you can use chai teabags.
- ½ teaspoon grounded ginger
- ½ teaspoon grounded nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- Dash of grounded cloves
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon star anise, toasted and grounded
Whisk whipping cream, powdered sugar and vanilla extract together until soft peaks are formed.
Add the chai spices to the whipping cream and whisk until soft peaks form. Do not overwhip.
Slowly fold in the condensed milk with a spatula or in your Kitchen Aid.
Drizzle in some caramel sauce and fold for some extra sweetness. (optional)
Pour the mixture into Silicone Baking Mold
Freeze at least 4 hours or best overnight.
Scoop 1 to 2 scoops of Chai ice cream and place into a tall glass or wide-rimmed glass.
Assemble the parfait, alternating between sweet ingredients as desired.
Pour 1 2oz (60 ml) shot glass of Amarula Cream Liqueur on top.
Top with whipping cream.
Top if all off by dusting with confectioners’ sugar or raw sugar, cinnamon, an extra drizzle of caramel and garnish with star anise.
