Taps and Tacos Port Moody | Mexican Cantina

Taps and Tacos is a new Mexican restaurant in Port Moody. It is located on 91 Moody Street and Saint Johns Street - diagonally across from Pizzeria Spacca Napoli and just up the street from Brewery Row (Yellow Dog Brewing Co, Twin Sails Brewing, The Parkside Brewery, Moody Ales). I've been looking forward to a good tacos joint in the Tri-Cities for a long time.

The interior of Taps and Tacos is clean, bring and has a high ceiling with a mezzanine second floor for extra seating. Menu focus is tacos (of course).

It also offers a good variety of local craft beers on tap and well as bottles: Moody Ales (exclusive brew "It's About Lime" Kölsch), Twin Sails, Yellow Dog, Dageraad, Steel & Oak, Strathcona, Parkside, Whistler Brewing and Strange Fellows. If you fancy cocktails and wine, they've got a good wine list also.

There is a good selection of tacos with eight flavours to choose from. $6 each. My favourite is their Coffee Spiced Pork and also the Korean Pork.

Mama's Beef: Ground beef, lettuce, mozza, charred pico de gallo, crema, crispy tortilla strips. Spice level (⅔)

Mojito Whitefish: tropical salsa, cucumber lettuce, mint and lime. This is a subtle tasting taco.

Tequila Lime Chicken: Local free run chicken, mexican tapenade, spiced almonds, cream, arugula, pea shoots. Spice level (⅓)

Korean Pork: gelderman farms pork, gochujang BBQ sauce, red cabbage slaw, cucumber, sesame seeds. Spice level (⅓).

We're looking forward to our next visit here again. Too bad this place is not very baby friendly with loud music. I guess we will just need to find a babysitter and have a date night (day) here instead!

Next time I will need to try the Cajun Tofu Tacos with black bean corn salsa, micro greens, pico de gallo, vegan crema and spiced almonds.
