Yue Delicacy Richmond 鮑粵軒 is a Chinese restaurant that recently opened on No 3 Road and Alexandra Road beside Kam Ho Restaurant 金豪麵家. Yue Delicacy took over the space from Lucky Tao Chinese Seafood Restaurant 陶陶居. After renovation, the space looks rather small with a maximum of twelve to fifteen tables. Tables are dressed with white crisp table clothes and the place is clean. The Pu'erh tea was very fragrant which we quite enjoyed.
We came to Yue Delicacy for dim sum and each dish averages 4.75, 6.95 to $8.95. Sticker prices are on the high end with average portions and flavors.
Preserved Egg and Shredded Pork Congee 8.95: good consistency without being too watery. Slightly too salty.
Pan Fried Pea Tip Vegetables with Garlic 10.95: a very small portion to be worth $11 albeit seasoned well and not overcooked.
Pan Fried Rice Roll with Soy Sauce 6.95: good and not too mushy. Served with peanut sesame and hoisin sauce for dipping.
Traditional Cantonese Cake 4.75: Similar to Chef Tony, it is made with black sugar. This sponge cake is fluffy and not too sweet. Would order again.
Steamed beef tendon and tripe 4.75: Well marinated and slightly spicy.
Steamed Scallop Dumplings with Truffle Oil 5.50: Three big dumplings with a good sized scallop and tobiko roe. The dumpling skin was also on the thicker side. Overall a pretty good steamed shrimp dumpling. The truffle oil was not too overwhelming.
Steamed Mince Pork Dumpling 4.75: Least favorite of all the dishes. The dumpling skin was very thick, minced pork meat mushy. Overall this steamed dumpling tasted old. This was an underwhelming dish which we left most unfinished.
With so many good Chinese restaurants and dim sum places to go to in Richmond. We probably wouldn’t come back ourselves. Hoping this place improves. But would be interested to check out their dinner menu.
