La Mezcaleria in Gastown (and Commercial Drive) is one of my favorite Mexican joint in Vancouver. So you can imagine how excited I was when I heard La Mezcal was offering Brunch Wednesday to Sunday until 3pm! No more rushing to wake up on the weekend just to sneak in a benny before 1pm! Let's face it, I was never an early riser!
Agua de Marco 6: Coconut water, pineapple, orange and passion fruit. Non-alcoholic and taste like a pina colada with orange juice! (LHS)
A boozey mimosa type alcoholic drink (RHS).
Guacamole and Chips 10: avocado, cilantro, onion, tomato and jalapeno. So good, I don't even want to share!
Ceviche Callejero 12: seasonal fish cured in lime with tomato, onion, jalapeno and cilantros.
Both served with crispy chips!
Add on the side some crispy pork belly, extra refried beans or even some smoked bacon!
Huevos Divorciados: Best of two options with these "divorced eggs". Two corn tortillas, two sunny side up eggs, one topped with salsa ranchera and another topped with salsa verde. "Divorced" by refried black beans and finished with queso fresco, cilantro and crispy bacon. Add extra egg, hash browns, bacon or even guac. Trust me this dish fills you up!
Chilaquiles Tradicionales 12: This vegetarian dish is made with house tortilla chips smothered in salsa verde with refried black beans and a sunny side up egg. Topped with crema, queso fresco, sliced white onion and cilantro. Added pork belly!
Salmon con Tequila Benny 16: Toasted English muffin topped with tequila and citrus cured Ocean Wise salmon, two poached eggs and chipotle hollandaise. Served with seasonal greens, caramelized onions and garlic oil has browns. If you don't like your eggs overcooked. Be sure to tell them if you prefer, soft, medium or hard poached eggs!
3pm Brunch is easy peasy lemony squeezy! See you there!
