Fortune Terrace Chinese Cuisine 福滿樓海鮮酒家 is a high-end Chinese seafood restaurant located in Richmond by the Richmond Oval - next to Ora a large scale residential community with T&T Supermarket. The restaurant is spacious with a large screen projection screen (perfect for weddings). Service is friendly and was not pretentious.
There is a good variety of dim sum selection on the menu: steamed, deep fried, marinated, braised and plenty of specialty items. Channeling Yum Cha HK, they've even got those super cute Boas with eyes and pig faces!
It's not often you see grown men and women playing with their food! Of course, this salty egg yolk bun was soft and moist with a creamy center filling.
Steamed Shrimp Dumplings: Although it was $9 per order, there was five pieces. Thin skin and has a bouncy mouthfeel. There was nothing to complain about these Ha Gaws.
Deep Fried Mince Pork Dumplings: A like the gelatinous dough with a salty center of minced pork. The portions were a little small and leaves you begging for more.
Steamed Beef Balls
Special Steamed Rice Rolls with Tofu, Scallops and Eggplant: Not exactly a "roll" but this was one of our favourite dishes. The filling is tasty but is hard to share if you have more than four people.
Steamed Marinated Beef Tripe: I like the marinated flavours of stay and jalapeno. The tripe is soft and tender.
Truffle Siu Mai: These bite size pork dumplings has a mild taste of truffle that is not too over-powering.
Snow Pea Tips: Served with consomme and lots of dried shrimp.
Fortune Terrace has a few hits and misses but has a good variety of dishes. We like to come here for yum cha since it is close to work and there are plenty of free parking underground. Price point is on the higher end, but it isn't over the top when you compare other newer Chinese restaurants in the area.
