Blue Bottle Coffee is located in The Mint Plaza. Walking down mission towards The Mint Plaza was not very enjoyable. There are far prettier places to talk a walk in the city.
Life without a car in a strange city can be exciting and terrifying and cosmically colliding. I wanted to go to the original Blue Bottle Coffee in Union Square / SOMA District, but the further down Mission I walked towards 6th, then 7th, streets became darker – the back flow of sewage water stunk; and it wasn’t the safest part of town. And yes you guessed it right… I missed the turn onto Mint Street – across from San Francisco Chronicles / before Mary Street. It is actually located on the corner of Mint St and Jessie St.
Inside Blue Bottle coffee was simple and brightly lit. High wooden long tables and friendly staff greeted us.
New Orleans Iced Coffee: cold brew for 18 hours and infused with roasted chicory, organic cane sugar and served with cold milk. A cup that reminded me of the touch of cold silk on a hot summers night. It was refreshing and luxurious.
Latte: Rich and bold brew over au lait. Something warm and a little more filling to last a good conversation… especially when it involves a Double Chocolate Cookie: Chewy and melts in your mouth.
You should also try the siphon coffee. If you are in Vancouver than I recommend Rocanini Coffee Roaster, Elysian, Platform 7 Coffee or Creekside Coffee.
