Autostrada Osteria is a casual osterie on Main Street, Vancouver between East 32nd and 33rd. The Co-Owner and Head Chef come from La Quercia, founder of La Pentola and co-owner of Cinara. The menu focuses on quality ingredients, fresh handmade pasta and few regional wines. The 30 seater room is tiny and you will often feel like you are “sharing” a table with the people to the left and right of you. I recommend making a reservation and requesting for the booth seat by the aisle.
The name “Autostrada” – is an expressway in Italy.
I came here with my University BFF to celebrate my birthday. To start, the creamiest and fluffiest burrata from Italy (MP) and house-baked daily Focaccia 6.
Caesar 13: To add a bit of green to our carbo-loaded evening, we opt for a Caesar salad with anchovies. Heavy on the salt.
Strozzapreti 21: duck and anchovy ragu.
Garganelli Con Salsiccia 22: Fennel sausage, peas and pecorino.
There is nothing more indulgent and comforting than fresh pasta over wine and good company! The portions are perfect without leaving you feeling stuffed and bloated.
Next time, order the classic cacio e pepe, consisting of Pecorino, black pepper and butter. You’re welcome!
