Pink Pearl Chinese Seafood Restaurant 珠城大酒樓 is one of the oldest Chinese restaurant in Vancouver. It is located at 1132 E Hastings Street at Clark Drive. This restaurant opened for business 40 years ago in 1980. It is older than me!
Celebrating 4 decades of culinary journey of Vancouver’s dim sum we sampled signature dishes representing difference decades at Pink Pearl, prepared by Chef F.K. Jiang and his team.
I love to Yum Cha . I grew up enjoying shrimp dumplings, Siu Mai’s, rice rolls and BBQ pork buns. What are some of your favorite dim sum dishes?
Steamed Shrimp Dumplings: A must order at any dim sum setting. These were juicy with a thin skin.
Lotus Wrapped Sticky Rice: While many restaurants option for a miniature presentation, Pink Pearl keeps its iconic form in a large sharing size sticky rice.
Duck Web Wrap: If you love black bean steamed chicken feet than you will love these oyster sauce duck web wrapped in bean curd.
Shrimp Toast: One of my favorite dim sum dishes growing up. Only thing is that it is pretty greasy.
Mini Steamed Barbecue Pork Buns
Steamed Sticky Rice Roll
Handmade Steamed Shrimp Rice Rolls and Beef Rolls are crowd favorites among the young and the old. Pour some soy for makes it so tasty.
Pan Fried Half Moon Dumplings: deep fried dumplings served with a side consomme soup. I didn’t like these much as I found it oily and it had a thick battered skin..
Gojoy Gojiberries Gelle: Jello made with goji berries and blue berries
Black and White Sesame Rolls: A tasty delicious dessert that is only subtly sweet.
