Faculty Brewing Co. is the newest addition to Vancouver’s craft beer scene. Opened net even a week and it is promising. It is located in the Mount Pleasant / Olympic Village neighbourhood at 1830 Ontario Street (and 3rd Avenue) where Pedal Bike Depot used to be. Faculty Brewing is opening by the husband and wife team husband-and-wife team Mauricio and Alicia. In case you are wondering, the name Faculty came from Mauricio’s experience as a professor.
The space has a dozen high top tables and a window bar seat. Cement, steel and wood frame the brewery with clean lines and aesthetics.
On a hot sunny day, it gets cooking inside. Looking forward to when they will install some UV film to block out the heat.
Faculty Brewing’s beer menu line up standards and new experiments. We enjoyed a beer flight and even contemplated on a glass of Oddity Kombucha on tap. It’s a nice addition for anyone bar hoping with friends but don’t really drink.
My favorite was the ever so refreshing Minzeweizen - a blend of peppermint tea with a milky wheat beer. Creamy finish and light.
