Tickleberry’s Ice Cream is located in Okanagan Falls on BC-3A N/BC-97 N. If you are heading to Osoyoos, you won’t miss it. Tickleberry’s Ice Cream is literally on the side on the road with a huge empty parking lot. It is a great pit-stop to stretch […]
Watermark Beach Resort Restaurant has a nice patio overlooking the beach and Osoyoos Lake. It is as the name suggests part of Watermark Beach Resort in Osoyoos, British Columbia. Overall, this resort is a slice of heaven in BC and definitely should make it onto the […]
Watermark Beach Resort Osoyoos British Columbia is beautiful hotel right on Osoyoos Lake. The hotel is beach front and lake facing. The a beautiful sunny day, the view is quite spectacular. Too bad we came here while it was cloudy. I hope you have better luck than us. After reading the good reviews and found some pretty good deals on Bookings.com for Watermark Beach Resort Hotel.
We came to Osoyoos for a Bachelorette weekend. We liked that Watermark Beach Resort is pretty central to wineries we had on our list. It is only about 15 mins to Tinhorn Creek Winery Okanagan (Miradoro restaurant is voted best of BC and the best of the Okanagan Valley) and Burrowing Owl Estate Winery. Watermark Beach Resort is also about 45 mins drive to See Ya Later Ranch Winery.
Watermark Beach Resort has a nice pool with water-slides, hot tub, patio dining and also an in-house spa. We definitely took advantage of their therapeutic RMT Massage at Illumination Spa! I love a good deep tissue sports massage!
The rooms are spacious and clean. Beds are firm (not soft that breaks your backs). I love the patio space overlooking the pool and lake. It makes having a beer and wine brought back from the wineries enjoyable!
I’m looking forward to coming back here with Dave. It will definitely be a different experience as a couple than with the girls! If you ask what’s the number one hotel in Osoyoos? I would probably say Watermark Beach Resort Hotel.

Not so long ago I went on a girls only road trip to Osoyoos, British Columbia. I’ve been to Summerland many times, but never to the South Okanagan Valley. I am still dreaming about the beautiful summer weather, blue skies and the meal we […]
Enjoy a breathtaking view on high overlooking the shores of Lake Okanagan in Westbank’s Mission Hill Family Estate while sipping on wine in an upscale romantic restaurant. This is one of the wonderful escapes while touring the Okanagan wineries. After the tour through the Mission Hill Winery, it’s nice to kick back and relax while being spoiled with great food at Terrace Restaurant Mission Hill Winery.
Terrace Restaurant Mission Hill Winery has a stunning dinner menu with an amazing view. I can not imagine a better place than to have dinner overlooking the vineyard and Okanagan Lake.
Farmhouse Butter & Vanilla Lobster Tail ‘sous vide’ 19: served with foie gras, maple cured steelhead caviar. How could I resist the precisely controlled temperature of cooking vacuum sealed lobster in airtight plastic bags bathed in a water. The perfected cooked Nephropidae is sweet while preserving its sashimi state.
Served alongside is the foie gras and mini toasted brioche. A smooth fatty foie gras to contrast the bouncy sweetness of the lobster.
And finished off with a savory lobster bisque soup in a shot glass. The saltiness of the concentrates cuts thru the fattiness of foie gras.
Estate Cured Bacon Wrapped Petite Bison Tenderloin 33: served with Okanagan cherry, forest mushroom tart. It is like a perfect canvas against the setting sun. The natural light captures the vivid colors of the dish embedding it against my iris. My brain salivates before I even had a bite. Bacon is slightly charred and crispy while the bison is cooked to perfection. Tender. Moist. Juicy. Tart cherries and earthy vegetables provides a bright flavor of freshness to this handsome dish.
Wine Fed Sezmu Beef Striploin & Braised Shortrib 31: served with polenta ‘frites’, sage & moja coffee jus. A smoky au jus and a tender striploin. A standard but perfectly seared piece.
Chocolate truffles melting in my mouth with fruit jellies salutes my day a fond farewell. Adieu!

If you live in Vancouver or any part of British Columbia or even Alberta for that matter, it would be a real shame if you don’t explore what this Province has to offer. Aside from spectacular North Shore Mountains, oceans, beaches, it is home […]
If you are ever smitten by with the abundance of fresh fruits at hand while enjoying a beautiful sunny day, you are probably no stranger to U Pick farms. If you enjoy eating plump blueberries, strawberries and loganberries, than you will more than likely love cherries as well. During summertime my friends and I love to travel – road trips, boating, flying off somewhere… you name it. Last year we decided to go to Summerland to visit some wineries, go kayaking, and of course visit a U Pick Farm for cherries. On the way home we arrived at what seemed to be a promising land abundant with cherries at Dickinson Family Farm in Summerland, Okanagan. There were a lot of people parked in the parking lot, but it was strange when reviews were scarce. Perhaps people were having such a great time that there is no need for such things. This is not true and definitely I feel it is my duty to report such faults
Please be forewarned that this is not your ideal cheery post. In fact this post serves as a warning to fellow cherry-picking-I-want-a-good-time comrades. As we were lining up eagerly waiting to pay, we were shunned for
- Wanting to pay for 3 ladders instead of 6. There were 3 girls and 3 guys. As for myself I do not feel safe climbing a 12 foot ladder without Dave holding on tightly below. Neither did the other 2 girls.
- Telling the “nice” lady that we’d like to pay for 6 admissions but only needed 3 ladders
As strange as it sounds, the “nice” lady actually thought we were ripping her off. It doesn’t matter really if we had 3 ladders or 6, how many pounds of cherries you end up picking is how many pounds of cherries we will pay for… Clearly a PHD is not needed to understand that.
Nevermind. Finally after some time the gatekeeper finally let us through. Happily praising ourselves for picking the biggest, baddest cherry we were “greeted” by the owner – who is a real champion when it comes to alienating his customers and making racist and condescending remarks… Let’s call him Dick. He was a real DICK. He dicked us around the whole time and we thought to ourselves he is a real Dick!
Dick did not like the fact that we were picking the low-hanging cherries. He, in fact, did not like that we moved our ladders away from the particularly sparse looking cherry trees he directed us to. Dick also did not appreciate that we moved too slowly out of his majesty’s way as he directed us to another sparse cherry tree.
What Dick wanted was cheap Chinese labour to help him pick all the cherries hanging way high above the clouds so that he and his staff did not need to do anything. Funny how this is a U-Pick Farm… Last time I checked, the definition of a U Pick Farm was that you can pick what you want, where you want (away from restricted areas of course), and pay for how many pounds you’ve picked.
Sorry Sir, I do not work for you. I did not pay to be accosted by your racist remarks regarding how I do not understand English. And I certainly did not deserve to be patronized by your discriminatory foul behavior.
In fact, I don’t care how plump or how juicy the cherries may be. I’ll consider the paid ladders and admission a sunk cost. Never again. Be Warned.
