Long’s Noodle House Vancouver 小龍記麵家 is located on Main Street beside Au Petite Cafe. The space is super small and perhaps no bigger than someone’s master bedroom. Despite the limited space and long line up during lunch and dinner, they have one of the best drunken…

To Whom It May Concern,
I just want to bring health inspectors to attention to this establishment where I visited in mid-October. I was at Beefy Beef Noodle House with 2 friends of mine because we found out Hawkers Delight wasn’t opened on Sunday, and I wasn’t quite happy about that. So I had to settle down the street.
We arrived with no expectation. We just wanted to fill our void and get out. We didn’t want any trouble, we didn’t expect above and beyond service, or extra anything. Only we got what we didn’t wanted…
We were sitting there and suddenly a fly creeps up on the table, and that’s not a big deal. Suddenly our food arrives.
First to arrive, eggplant with rice. According to our friend, this is bland with way too much sauce. My friend, what did you expect? They are going to make sure the egg plants are cooked, the cornstarch is added for extra sauce to cover anything unpleasant and sent you to your way. Next…
Beef Tenderloin Noodle. To be fair, tenderloin is el-dente, so were the noodles. No surprises, but it doesn’t have a wow factor.
Before we finish of with the last dish, another inspect crawled up to the table to join us. I sincerely apologize for not taking a photo to show you, I was too busy trying to flick it away.
Not to get too carried away with the cleanliness of the restaurant, the last thing we ordered was beef brisket noodles. Same broth, same garnishes, nothing really worth talking about.

The Acorn is a trendy vegetarian restaurant along Main Street / King Edward – next to Zakkushi Charcoal Grill. It is where hipsters rejoice, independent and consignment fashion stores congregate, and eateries compete. The concept of The Acorn is for refined presentation of…
Sawasdee Thai Restaurant Vancouver has been recommended to us several times but it wasn’t until now that we finally had a chance to come here. My dear friends took me here for my birthday (just one of the many dinners that month). It is…
We’ve passed by Locus Restaurant on many occasions travelling down Main Street looking for a bit to eat. But we never really had a urge to venture inside. The exterior is someone dark and the insides was rather gothic-esque. You know… with the dark atmosphere, some red lighting, random forest and branches inside… It wasn’t until our friend Tina suggest we have brunch at Locus Restaurant. Service was friendly and prompt. The plus side was that we sat next to the big window… plenty of natural sunlight. I think I may be somewhat depressed sitting inside in the dark-side. It’s not like I stepped out from Vampire Diaries.
There are plenty of daily brunch specials which all seemed to have ran out by 1pm. No more protein quiche and special omelette. I like how they offered organic local produces and smoothies. Fresh breads (cinnamon and white) are served with sugar butter and a spicy jalapeno.
Huevos Rancheros 13: 2 creamy eggs (sunny side up my favorite), spicy black beans, jalapeno jack cheese and a house-made corn tortilla topped with salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. The crunchy tortilla on the bottom of the eggs added a nice texture. I love the southern mix.
Locus Restaurant was a pleasant surprise and now we have another brunch place to add to our list. I could get used to this. Prices are fairly reasonable too.
