So you’ve heard everyone raving about juice fasting and jump starting their diet. You’re ready to give your internal organs and digestive system a break, but you are intimidated by the whole no food thing. Don’t panic! It’s not as bad as it sounds! In fact it is a lot of fun if you know what to expect. Here are some tried and tested tips for a successful juice cleanse!

Tips For A Successful Juice Cleanse

[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line”][vc_column_text]Look At Your Calendar: If you have birthday parties, friend’s wedding or a week packed of social events, it is probably not the best time to start a juice cleanse. Set yourself up for a successful juice cleanse when you have time and a break in the schedule!

Prepare Your Body: A juice cleanse doesn’t mean a zombie apocalypse. You don’t need to bank your food intake by eating twice the food the day before. You don’t need that extra burger! Instead, it is good to prep your body before a juice cleanse by cleaning up your diet. Eliminate sugary and processed junk food with wholesome salads or healthy smoothie bowls. The juice cleanse will be a lot smoother when your body doesn’t go in shock.

Hydrate: Juices are not enough to hydrate your body in a 24 hour period. If must also drink water to help flush out toxins. Your body will feel dehydrated. Also consider decaffeinated herbal teas to warm and comfort your body. Drinking juices all day can make you feel cold and uninspired.

Sleep: Catch up on some sleep and get some extra rest. It is totally normal to feel a bit tired and worn down while your body is busy eliminated wastes. Sleeping helps your body focus on detoxification and manage energy levels while you are consuming less calories.

Pamper Yourself: Book a deep tissue massage and help move lymphatic fluids. This helps to eliminate toxins and promote circulation. I also recommend taking a bath with Epsom salt bath, turn your ultrasonic nebulizer diffuser with your favorite therapeutic essential oils.

Exercise: Contrary what you may think a good sweat actually makes your juice cleanse more enjoyable. Exercise and sweating increases your stamina when your body feels cold and below par. Even a walk or light stretching will help you perspire and feel good about yourself.

Pick a Cleanse That Works For You: Find a juice cleanse that suits your life and body weight. Decide how long you will be able to go without food. One day, three days, five days? If you are new to juice cleansing, five days may be too long. Be realistic for your lifestyle and pick a time frame that can benefit you.

Snack: Lastly, if you are having ‘food chewing’ withdrawals, eat a little bit of unsalted nuts or add chia seeds to your juices and nut mylks.
