We drank Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio; ate mini fried egg burgers, scallops and Chiko rolls by Wild Rice. All organized by the fine folks over at Heth PR and Cahoots Creative Happenings.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][image_with_animation image_url=”13737″ animation=”Fade In” img_link_target=”_self”][image_with_animation image_url=”13728″ animation=”Fade In” img_link_target=”_self”][image_with_animation image_url=”13734″ animation=”Fade In” img_link_target=”_self”][vc_column_text]Mallee Rock S.E. Australia Pinot Grigio 2014:

Mallee Rock’s Pinot Grigio grapes are sourced from a small parcel within the Murray-Darling Valley, a warmer growing area moderated by the Murray and Darling Rivers. This source, from
one single grower and vineyard, provides varietal typicity rather than blending from multiple sources, which reduces the varietal characteristics. Our Pinot Grigio was specifically selected from this warmer growing area to deliver a more flavourful profile, which offers more ripeness and fruit around it. It stands out and demonstrates distinctiveness, like a quality Pinot Grigio should.

This Pinot Grigio is an easy-drinking wine with flavours of green apple and fresh citrus flavours of lemon, lime and grapefruit. It is a crisp, medium-bodied wine with a touch of minerality and a long, smooth finish.

Great to pair with light dishes like seafood and salads.

  • 86% Pinot Grigio, 14% Sauvignon Blanc
  • Size 750 mL

Mallee Rock’s Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are sourced from the cool-to-moderate maritime climate of S.E. Australia’s Limestone Coast; it is regarded internationally as a quality red wine region. This region’s influence of cold Antarctic currents and cloud cover during the summer moderates the temperature to deliver elegant wines. Within the Limestone Coast, the Shiraz comes from Padthaway, a distinctive Shiraz region, while the Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the Padthaway and Wrattonbully regions, the latter of which sees the Cab variety make up almost half of all grapes planted.

The 2013 Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon is bold, full-bodied flavours of ripe blackberry and plum with hints of mocha and toasty oak. It’s a big wine with a long, smooth finish.
This wine is best suited for the barbeque, from prawns to pork. Best served at room temperature.

  • 80% Shiraz, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Size 750 mL
