Empire Seafood Restaurant is a recently renovated, relocated higher end dim sum / Chinese restaurant in Richmond. It replaced Milestone and the venue is perfect for a wedding. No pillars, video and sound systems are completely synced.
Shrimp paste eggplant: 4 giant pieces of deep fried eggplants that melt compliments the springiness of shrimp paste.
Marinated Chicken Feet with Black Bean sauce: Boldly flavored with black bean, green peppers, and hoisin sauce.
Steamed Beef Balls: Minced beef with radish. Nicely flavored.
Steamed Shrimp Dumplings: A nice steaming hot giant dumpling bursting with shrimp. Thin skin that is semi-translucent.
Steamed Spareribs: Big pieces that were a bit tough and chewy. Flavor-wise it is not bad and the pumpkin was very soft.
Century Egg and Shredded Pork Congee: A hearty bowl of congee full of ingredients. The congee was a bit thick but not creamy.
Overall Empire Seafood Restaurant wasn’t too bad, service was friendly, however, food took awhile to come out. By the time we were ready to leave, our pan fried rice rolls hadn’t arrived. We cancelled it in the end.
