木瓜雪耳糖水 Chinese Papaya Dessert with Snow Fungus is a beautiful and refreshing dessert packed with nourishing benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicinal food therapy. Suitable for all ages, this beauty elixir helps replenish Yin, moisten the lungs, aids digestion and promotes Qi. Enjoy this skin complexion dessert hot or cold!

Instructions

  1. Wash and rinse Chinese herbs like Chinese almonds and snow fungus.
  2. Soak the herbs for 20 minutes in a small bowl to remove traces of impurities. This will help remove dust and debris. Rinse and set aside in a small bowl.
  3. Soak snow fungus in a separate bowl. Once the snow fungus has resuscitated, cut the hard ends off with a pair of scissors. Section into small pieces.
  4. Wash papaya, cut the ends off the ripe papaya and cut lengthwise to remove the seeds. It is unnecessary to peel the skin but feel free if you desire.
  5. Cut the papaya chunks into smaller pieces or large chunks, depending on the pot size.

 

Double Stew Method

  1. I typically double stew my Chinese dessert soup recipes in the Buydeem Health Beverage Maker. It is easy to use. You do not need to watch the water boils for long hours of cooking time.
  2. Simply put all the ingredients into the stew pot and fill the main kettle with 1.5 litres of water.
  3. Turn on the stewing "bird nests" function. It is automatically set to 30-minute intervals.

Stovetop Method

  1. If you cooking this dessert over the Stovetop.
  2. Add the main ingredient into a pot of water and boil at high heat. Once the hot water is boiling, reduce heat to low heat and continue cooking for 30 minutes.

 

Add rock sugar and let dissolve and just your desired level of sweetness.

 

木瓜雪耳糖水(煲/燉)

  1. 雪耳用水浸泡 20分鐘。
  2. 杏仁浸泡20分鐘
  3. 木瓜洗净,去皮及籽后切小块
  4. 把雪耳擠乾水分,以剪刀切去硬椗,撕成小块备用。
  5. 将所有处理好的材料一起放入炖盅,加水,隔水以中小火炖1小时即可。或北鼎养生壶煲約30分鐘。
  6. 加冰糖煮至完全融化即成。

  • If you prefer to enjoy this dessert chilled. Cool papaya dessert soup to room temperature. Place in an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
