The Yale Saloon Vancouver is a Country / Blues bar just off Granville Bridge on the corner of Drake beside Spin Society. The newly re-imagined 126 year old Yale Hotel will feature live music, jazz, blues and Country style BBQ and Southern eats. A long ways has come from what used to be called The Colonial, housing CPR workers.
Tonight we enjoyed first looks of the place where music legends like Jimmy Page, Johnny Winter and BB King once played. The Yale Saloon opens Friday, November 13 to the public! Just in time for the weekend! Time to polish up your finest cowboy boots!
The Yale Saloon is part of the MRG Group (who also operates the Vogue Theatre and the Biltmore). There are two large bars (one on each side of the gastropub), cow print carpet and a mechanical bull is a promising start to a fun Western weekend. Do you dare to ride the bull? Show us your wild side!
The menu consists of slow-smoked meats, corn bread and cold beer and cocktails. Rumor has it that they will be offering Southern Style Brunch. I can’t wait for Beignets, Shrimp and grits, fried chicken and waffles… I’m sure there will be some delicious twist on Southern meets the PNW.
So Brunch over some Bluegrass? See you there!
