Naked Snacks is a Vancouver based Canadian healthy snacks subscription box. It is a service that sends wholesome snacks to your door. I love snacking while watching Netflix. Watching a movie without some sort of snack just isn’t the same! So, it is great to switch up the high calorie potato chips for something more hearty and nutritious without compromising on great taste! These snacks also comes in handy whenever friends and family comes to visit!
How It Works
- Size: Choose from three different boxes to suit your snacking needs: 5 snacks, 1o snacks or 20 snacks. For example, 5 personal snacking includes 5 large bags / 20 portions inside each box.
- Frequency: Select how often you would like to receive snacks in the mail: every 2 weeks, once a month or every 2 months. You can change, pause or cancel anytime. Natural shelf life of the snacks is 3 months.
- Snacks: Pick you snacks from a selection of sweet or savoury items like Aloha Kauai (Salted macadamia nuts, banana chips, crystallized pineapple, toasted flaked coconut), Maui Pineapple Rings, Sriracha Cashews, PB Chocolate Granola (this is great for making your breakfast parfait!)

With Canadian Thanksgiving right around the corner, now is a good time to start thinking about holiday entertaining. I love spending time at home with family and friends over great food and wine. But I also don’t want to spend the entire time cooking. Here are five of our favorite kitchen gadgets for holiday entertaining that can be used year around also!
Le Creuset 5 1/2 Quart Round Enamel Cast Iron French Over – $442.56 (was: CAD 636.18)
The versatility of cast-iron cookware is unbeatable. That is why it is found in many households. I’ve wanted one since I’ve started cooking. There’s nothing this kitchen workhorse can’t do. From roasting turkey, braised beef brisket, curry and stews, there’s one colorful enameled exterior to match your kitchen!
Cooking for large parties can be stressful. With the Anova sous vide device you can achieve professional results with little effort! The clever design with Bluetooth and WiFi enabled technology allows the cooker to attach to any pot with the accompanying clamp, set the time and temperature with the touch of a button, and cook foods in a sealable bag for maximum tenderness and moisture retention.
All-Clad Turkey Roaster – CAD 276.58
This turkey roaster set is perfect for getting yourself Thanksgiving Day ready! As a Canadian, I like to celebrate both turkey days in October and again with our friends down South in November. This stainless steel pan comes fitted with a nonstick, V-shaped roasting rack that elevates foods to allow for even cooking and browning. Now, all you got to do is perfect that bacon weave on the bird! Easy peasy!
SONOS Compact Wireless Speaker – CAD $249
Having a great playlist is essential to holiday entertaining. You’ve spent hours curating the perfect songs, why would you sacrifice it with poor equipment? SONOS wireless speakers uses WiFi to deliver deep, crystal clear sound. Control all your music and streaming services from a single app (on your smartphone, tablet or computer)!
A sharp knife cuts clean and straight. This eight inch Chef’s Knife satisfies most cooking needs. It has a good weight and has been ice-hardened, hand-sharpened and laser-controlled. This professional razor-sharp blade makes everyday tasks, like slicing bread and chopping veggies, even simpler.
Happy Holiday Entertaining! Tag me in your photos @instanomss, I’d love to see the masterpieces you’ve cooked/baked!

Where to play Pokémon Go in Vancouver is an article we recently contributed to Yellow Pages Canada. From choker necklaces to slip dresses, Pokémon is another 90’s fave making a comeback this year. Thousands of nostalgic fans can be seen travelling across the city with their smartphones in search of animated creatures. Check out this list of Pokéstops in and around Vancouver where you can fuel up, meet fellow Pokémon trainers, and catch rare legendary species like elusive Growlithes.
Mahony & Sons | 36-1055 Canada Pl, Vancouver, BC V6C 0C3
Canada Place is a great location for catching Clefairy and Jigglypuffs as there are a few Pokéstops nearby along the Waterfront. When you get hungry, stop in at Mahony & Sons for a truffle burger, fries and a pint to fuel up yourself. Take a break and people watch on the patio. Tip: log on to the restaurant’s free WiFi and conserve your data while playing.
Aberdeen Centre | 4151 Hazelbridge Way, Richmond, BC V6X 4J7
There’s a whole new reason to shop at the Aberdeen Centre and this time it isn’t because of a new restaurant opening or another Daiso dollar store. The Richmond shopping centre has transformed into a popular Pokéstop for trainers looking to get in on the Pokèmon Go action. When hunger strikes, there are plenty of places to fuel up; the food court here has everything from dim sum to to bubble tea to Korean BBQ.
Catch 122 Cafe Bistro | 122 Hastings St W, Vancouver, BC V6B 1G8
Don’t be alarmed if your dining companions pick up their phones and start rigorously tapping and swiping; chances are they’re checking into this Gastown Pokéstop and fueling up on Pokeballs and other items. Given that this award-winning bistro is a favourite among local brunch fans, the Pokèmons can probably smell the delicious egg Benedicts and just want to join you for a bite!
Terra Breads | 1605 Manitoba St, Vancouver, BC V5Y 0B8
There are a few Pokéstops and gyms over at Olympic Village Square, so the local Terra Breads is a delicious bakery to visit while playing. Head to the patio to enjoy fresh-baked bread, sweet and savoury pastries, and handfuls of scratch-made granola while you catch your enchanted creatures. Their cinnamon brioche buns are delightful, especially when paired with a cup of coffee. Traffic here is relatively quiet but focused trainers will need to be careful as there are plenty of cars, runners, cyclists and kids playing in this busy neighbourhood.
Pacific Centre Shopping Mall | 609 Granville St, Vancouver, BC
The Pacific Centre is a prime downtown location for Pokèmon Go players. The busy street corner outside Granville Station is always packed with tourists and commuters throughout the week, but you can tell these iPhone-wielding crowds are focused on catching Zubats and Rattatas. There are a few Pokèstops in the area, plus you can tap in to the free WiFi at the mall. Head to the food court to replenish your energy or, better yet, grab a table at The Keg at Granville and Dunsmuir to reward your efforts with a grilled sirloin and a twice-baked potato.
Rocky Point Ice Cream | 2800 Murray St, Port Moody, BC V3H 1X2
Head to this Port Moody ice cream shop to grab a sweet cone and walk around the nearby park to catch a few Pokémon. With plenty of free parking and far less traffic than downtown Vancouver, this Pokéstop is a safe place to visit with little kids and there are lots of resting areas if you get tired of walking. On the weekends, you’ll find a couple of lures available – and I’ve caught a few rare Pokèmons here too!
The Hart House | 6664 Deer Lake Ave, Burnaby, BC V5E 4H3
Hart House is a West Coast restaurant next to Burnaby Village Museum. Not only does the restaurant overlook the scenic trail at Deer Park Lake, it is also a very active Pokèmon stop and gym. Visit for Sunday brunch to fuel up on mouthwatering brioche French toast and seafood eggs Benny, then stop by the virtual gym afterwards to train your Pikachu.
Pearl Castle Café Ltd | 1128-3779 Sexsmith Rd, Richmond, BC V6X 3Z9
If you’re in Richmond, thirsty and looking for tasty Taiwanese snacks, as well as individual hot pots and meal combos, you can take a break at Pearl Castle. This award-winning café serves up creamy milk teas and bobas with a nice chew, plus there’s plenty of free parking at Continental Mall. Turn on your fragrant incense burner to start luring Pokèmon to your location!
