Pizzeria Spacca Napoli is a new Italian Pizza joint in Port Moody on 2801 St Johns Street. This new Naepolitan restaurant is rather new to the Tri-Cities neighbourhood. Every time, we drove by it is packed full of people. The restaurant has a modern yet rustic atmosphere. High ceilings, bar seats and marble tables. The owners comes from Naples along with their wooden oven baking fresh pizzas. I’m so excited to see new life breathing into the area. The service is warm and welcoming and food comes out prompt!
Fresh pizza dough rolling and fresh pizza coming fresh out of the oven.
Caprese Burrata Insalate 16: I could never turn away fresh creamy burrata cheese. Seasonal tomatoes, basil mint pesto and extra virgin olive oil. The salad was super fresh albeit with a little sticker shock.
Double Smoked Pizza 17: This pizza has no tomato sauce. Cream, smoked mozzarella, smoked pancetta, cherry tomatoes and fresh basil. Their pizza is soft crust. I didn’t find it soggy even though I have heard from others the center can be a bit moist.
We are looking forward in trying the Proscuitto E Funghi mushroom pizza and the classic Margherita at our next visit!

Rocky Mountain Flatbread Company recently invited us to spend an afternoon over pizza on their Kitsilano patio. No one ever said no to pizza. They also have another location located on 4186 Main Street. Vancouver weather has been quite warm recently and forecast says we are in for a hot one this summer. Aside from all the environment concerns, I am quite excited to spend as much time outdoors on the patio or biking (indoors and out)!
We have a fun contest coming up with Rocky Mountain Flatbread Company. You will need to follow us and stay updated!
Suzanne Fielden, Owner showed us how they are reducing their Carbon Footprint. At the back of the restaurant, there is a greenhouse composting system developed by Urban Stream. This onsite worm composter quickly breaks down organic waste like food scraps into a valuable soil amendment.
Rocky Mountain Flatbread Company uses to grow their own arugulas, basils, and other seasonal vegetables. This was pretty cool. Similar structure like this may be rare in Vancouver as they literally had to jump thru hoops to get this one approved. Also, they have a team of educators that work with students teaching them to grow their own food and create seasonal healthy snacks. It is always heartwarming to see restaurants Pay It Forward.
WEST COAST SALMON FLATBREAD 10.95: Extra thin crust, brushed with roasted garlic spread, sprinkled with Quebec mozzarella cheese, shaved onions & capers. Baked in our artisan oven, topped with wild smoked salmon, lemon horseradish drizzle & fresh chives.
FIG & GOAT’S CHEESE SALAD 9.50 reg | 13.50 large: Assorted organic leaves, crunchy cucumbers, ripe tomatoes, shaved red onions & mixed with goat’s cheese in a creamy sundried black mission fig dressing. I’m not typically a fan of goat cheese, but this salad is pretty awesome. The goat cheese isn’t overpowering.
FRESH BASIL AND BLACKBERRY SALAD 8.50 reg | 12.50 large: Fresh organic green leaves, brown mushrooms, mango & roasted red bell peppers tossed in a basil & blackberry dressing.
PARMA 9.95 small | 14.50 reg | 23.50 large: Organic tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, Schinken speck (cured ham), brown mushrooms & mango. Topped with roughly chopped arugula & parmesan cheese.
DAILY CHEESECAKE: Orange and coconut that is gluten free. This summer pie tastes like a cremsicle!
WARM DOUBLE CHOCOLATE BROWNIE: One of Rocky Mountain Flatbread’s signature dessert. Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Papa Dave’s Pizza Port Coquitlam doesn’t look like much from the outside. I’ve passed by it countless times driving on Kingsway to even bat an eye. But I can say I am pleasantly surprised. We ordered pizza with Just Eat food delivery service. Once our […]
Our trip to San Francisco was somewhat limited because we didn’t rent a car for the full duration of the trip. So our exploration proximity tend to be within where we stayed – Marina / Cow Hollow* area. The first afternoon after settling in we wanted to take it easy for lunch before we became Hangry** Somewhere walkable. Luckily, throughout the Chestnut / Union Street area was plentiful in restaurants and shops. We found a well rated Italian Pizzeria and Pasta restaurant called Delarosa San Francisco. Open concept kitchen, high tops, and bar area.
I liked the chill relaxed atmosphere at Delarosa San Francisco. There were plenty of patio seats outside and a modern setting inside. Burnt orange, chrome and wood everything was simple but energizing.
Hot salami, coppa, tomato, diavolicchio pizza 16: thin crust with a soft center and loaded with spicy deli meat. It was extremely oily and greasy but full of flavors.[
Garganelli, porcini, pancetta 11: A tiny bowl arrived. Two thoughts raced through my mind; either it was 1. Absolutely amazing to justify the price 2. It was a rip off. Unfortunately, it was the latter. The pasta was under-cooked and far from al dente. The pancetta was like slivers of shredded Black Forest ham and not the crispy chunks I had imagine from Meat and Bread. The verdict Delarosa San Francisco was nothing extraordinary.
*Hangry – Hungry to the point of being angry.
**A beautiful area near Crissy Field along the seawall great for running and taking photos of the Golden Gates Bridge.
