Grand River Seafood Restaurant 濠江尚品海鮮酒家 is a Chinese restaurant located in Coquitlam (next to Silvercity Cineplex Cinemas) on 100 Schoolhouse Street. This is another humble restaurant with minimal decor. This restaurant offers dim sum lunch service as well as seafood dinner (set menus and combos available). We’ve been here several times and consistency is an issue. Food quality is not always up to par.
Dim Sum option here at Grand River is not bad however. There are a lot of choices – some other Chinese restaurants in Tri-Cities does not have.
Deep Fried Bean Curd Shrimp Roll
Rice Roll with Chinese Donut and Shrimp Paste.
Three Mushroom Rice Rolls

Steamed Bean Curd Roll
Pineapple Bun BBQ Pork Bun
Deep Fried Sesame Balls: This is one of my favorite desserts here.
Not to confuse you, not Coquitlam has a Chinese restaurants all with the name “Grand”.

四季 Grand Seasons Chinese Restaurant is a humble diner in Coquitlam. It is located just across from the Burquitlam SkyTrain station at 555 Clarke Road. Our friends introduced this place to us after we were complaining about eating at the same restaurants in Coquitlam Tri-Cities…
We finally decided to try HAAN Korean BBQ in Coquitlam after an intense craving for barbecue meat! We were not disappointed. The restaurant is clean and service is friendly. I like the interior. It also helped that it was well ventilated and you don’t leave…
Neptune Chinese Kitchen 鳳鳴粥麵 has been opened a little under a year now at the Hard Rock Casino in Coquitlam on United Boulevard. The restaurant is spacious, baby friendly, bright but a little out of the way from city center. It is usually pretty quiet (something I quite enjoy). The staff are friendly and welcoming. It has become one of our go to restaurants for a quick bite.
Similar to the other Neptune locations like Mc Arthur Glen outlets, Neptune Chinese Kitchen menu focuses on wonton noodle soup, congee and signature Chinese dishes.
Congee: My favorite is Neptune’s congee base. It is pillowy and has a nice consistency unlike here. I usually option for the fish slices or the pig liver congee.
Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings: A small order of wings gets you about 6-7 pieces. Deep fried and covered with garlic and jalapeno bits.
Yin Yang Fried Rice: Tomato and Cream sauce based fried rice. It has a good balance of sweet and sour.
Braised Fish and Tofu Hot Pot: Sometimes when we don’t feel like having noodle soup, we option of their entree signature dishes. I love how heated their wok is. It makes a difference in the execution of each dish.
Deep Fried Bean Curd with Vegetables: When Deer Garden closed down, I was so upset that I couldn’t enjoy one of my favorite dishes in Coquitlam anymore. Luckily, Neptune makes a pretty kick ass version itself. It is light and non-greasy.
The prices at Neptune are a little expensive. Dinner for two could set you back $50 if you want to order noodle soups along with a few snack side dishes. I hope this place gets a little busier and will last. I would hate to see it close down due to a lack of traffic. Coquitlam has been dying for a wonton noodle restaurant!

ChickenHolic Coquitlam is the newest Korean Fried Chicken joint in the TriCities. It is located just before Marmot on 1104 Austin Ave. Opened barely a month, this new restaurant can be easily dismissed. From the outside it looks dive-y. And this hole-in-the-wall menu options of…
Ta Bom Korean Cuisine Coquitlam is currently the hottest restaurant in K-town. It is located next to Jimoco Pasta on 1046 Austin Avenue and Marmont Street. There is limited free street parking. There is no reservations. Everyone is seated first come first serve. The great thing about Tabom, they will call you when you’re seat is ready! So you can wait in the car if you wanted!
They are famous for their Hot Plates $14-15.
Option to add
- Steamed egg +2
- Corn +2
- Cheese +5
- Bokkeum Bap (fried rice) +3
- Rice Cake +3
Jukkumi jeyuk bokkeum 15: This spicy small octopus and pork is amazingly delicious! Once the plate heats up, the egg will cook and the cheese will melt like fondue! Order Bookeum Bap near the end. The servers will stir fry the rice and seaweed directly on the hot plate for you.
Ori Yukgaejang 13: This spicy duck soup has a subtle residual heat that gets hotter as you drink it. The duck meat is tender and boneless. There are a lot of flavors in this hot soup. A lot are herbal and earthy but so delicious. I would recommend some heat reducing soup or beer to neutralize the heat in your body after!

Tacoreano Coquitlam Centre is a new Korean fusion taco restaurant dishing out tacos, quesadillas and fresh kimchi rice bowls. The store is just a block away from Coquitlam Centre on #100-2970 Glen Drive next to Browns Social House, Delicious Pho and Ninja Bubble. Tacoreano took open the pet store and it’s amazing how they transformed the space to a kitchen and a hip taco joint! I’m just really glad Coquitlam now has good tacos and we don’t have to drive out to Tacofino every single time.

I like their tabasco and hot sauce wall. There’s a lot to choose from: mild, spicy, burning hell. They probably have some resiniferatoxin on Scoville heat chart. I like to stick to what I know.
We ordered one of each to get a good idea what we like.
Tacoreano Taco Menu
Tacos: one for $6 | two for $10
Chicken: spicy chicken marinated in Korean seasoning, cabbage, pickled daikon, kaiware, gonchujang aioli
Beef: thinly sliced rib-eye beef marinated in soy based korean seasoning, cabbage, salsa fresca, kimchi and sriracha mayo
Pork: Korean spiced pork jowl marinated with red pepper paste, cabbage, salsa, pickled daikon, miso crema. A truer to Korean fusion taco with signature pork jowls.
Tuna: albacore tuna poke, romaine, wakame, ginger, wasabi mayonesa. I like this light yet flavorful taco. I also liked that the fish was not deep fried like pescados and retained its own natural sweetness.
Beef Kimchi Rice bowl 10.75: thin sliced rib eye beef marinated in soy based Korean seasoning with sriracha mayo. Again it is similar to the beef tacos we had earlier. It also reminds me of Bulgogi BBQ. The rice bowl comes with romaine lettuce, fresh kimchi, cucumber slaw, pickled daikon, salsa fresca topping, chogochujang sauce and garnished with kaiware sprouted daikon radish seeds.
