Caffe Vita Coffee Roasting Company, is a coffee roasting company in Seattle, Washington that we recently grew very fond of. We were recently sent a Caffe Vita’s holiday blend coffee beans. I am in love. Caffe Vita has been on our radar for some time now. It is one of the top 10 coffee shops in Seattle.
Caffe Vita’s holiday blend features three exceptional coffees that were sourced during their travels this past year. Each of these coffees is remarkable in their own right, but as a blend they complement each other to create a balanced and complex cup that is well suited for holiday drinking – spicy, sweet, and slightly toasty, with flavors of chocolate, cherry, and clove.
A naturally processed yellow bourbon lot from Monte Verde in Brazil provides a dried cherry sweetness, along with subtle oak and vanilla notes. The washed, high-grown caturra by Rafael Brixius in Fraijanes, Guatemala, contributes dark chocolate and subtle citrus notes, while our Ethiopian Lelisa Hara lot adds understated florals and an intriguing spice.
Celebrate the season with Caffe Vita’s limited edition Holiday Blend, the perfect complement to your family gatherings.
A morning brew on a French Press with double baked pain au chocolate with hazelnut cream makes one heck of a morning! Long live strong nutty coffee!
Caffe Vita is located conveniently on Pike, but not obnoxiously near the market. I’m a big fan for their Cafe Luna coffee blend of nuttiness and earthy tones. Gayo River single origin is also quite nice. Come here if you are looking for a serious full flavored latte or espresso. The Capital Hill location has a coffee roaster in the back of this two story cafe. Free Wifi.

We were recently sent the new Remington iCoffee Opus coffee machine. Coincidentally, we were also in the market for a single-serve brewer. Because, I simply do not have time in the morning to enjoy a French Pressed coffee. The iCoffee Steam Brew Drip Coffee Machine that was […]
Platform 7 Coffee Vancouver on Hastings serves hand crafted pour over coffee, siphon, Chemex, cold brew and tasting flight. The interior resembles a London train station. Like that, customer rushes in as the bus stops and the place is filled with chatter. Booth seats, cement […]
If you are looking for a retro Starbucks Coffee in Hong Kong Central, it is on Duddell Street. The concept is similar to the retro vintage 1940’s Hong Kong style cafe in Mong Kong Sai Yee Street 旺角洗衣街. Starbucks Coffee on Duddell Street is the World’s first ever Starbucks that retrofits to the nostalgic Bing Sutt 冰室 within a contemporary coffeehouse design. It is decorated with old school furniture, lighting with a local brand GOD (Goods of Desire) with antiques and goods that are quintessentially Hong Kong. Duddell Street itself is a historically renowned staircase with gas lamps and long staircase. It is home to many films and brings a timeless heritage to Hong Kong.
At first glance Starbucks Coffee Central on Duddell Street appears to be just another Starbucks coffee shop. But after entering deeper, you will find yourself merged beyong Western modernization and back to 1950’s Hong Kong intimate style and traits solely Hong Kong.
Not only will you be able to enjoy a Ventri Dark or a sweet Caramel Macchiato latte, you will also find a few treats characteristics of Hong Kong. Or Chinese in that sense. Enjoy a coffee infused egg tart or red bean pudding. If you prefer a more western dessert, try the chocolate lamington.
I love how Starbucks embraces different cultural and integrates this modern coffee shop with a taste of the classics. It is even interesting to see the first Starbucks store not in English.

Freakishly delicious donuts. Lucky’s Doughnuts Vancouver is part of 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters. You come here to get Lucky. How can you come to Lucky’s Doughnuts and not be tempted to get a donut (a box) to go along with your coffee? Lucky’s Doughnuts at 49th Parallel […]
Sunday’s are better than others. And we wish Monday’s would be less cruel. It is a vicious cycle. Psychological even perhaps. But after spending a weekend catching up on life and Zzz’s; I then wake up hating on Queen B* for waking me up. […]
Prado Cafe is located on Commercial Drive. The coffee shop is managed by multi world barista World Barista Championship finalist, Sammy Piccolo. Prado Cafe is small and is full most times. It serves 49th Parallel coffee which I find too acidic. They have a small wooden bench outside which is nice to catch some sunshine and people watch.

Tsui Wah Restaurant 翠華餐廳 is a cafe chain cafe located throughout Hong Kong. It serves up comfort food catered to the Chinese palate. During peak hours, expect to share tables. The flagship restaurant in Central has three stories. Sorry no elevators. Order like a local and try their milk tea served in their signature doll face painted mugs. Then order their infamous condense milk toast 奶油豬, soup noodles and fried rice dishes like Kagoshima Pork cartilage and spinach shrimp dumplings with fish soup and vermicelli, and fish ball rice noodles.
Kagoshima Pork cartilage and spinach shrimp dumplings with fish soup and vermicelli: The soup is rich and flavorful. But, wow the pork cartilage just melts and is deeply marinated with soy and herbs. The addition of the shrimp dumpling was great mix. Because God forbid I only eat one ingredient and get bored too easily.
Fish Ball and Fish Cake Rice Noodle: A bit of Chiu Chow with bouncy fish balls and a dense broth. Really one bowl is not enough.
Burger Slider: To advertise this as a burger was a sin. It is no bigger than your regular slider and the side of fries had 6 pieces. When was the last time you were able to count your fry. The downer was it was dry and lacked seasoning.

Lan Fong Yuen 蘭芳園 located between Central and Mid Level on Gage Street erected a rickety cafe since the 1950s. Unbeknownst, this Cha Chaan Teng supposedly birthed the silk stocking milk tea 奶茶. We’ve read all about it, on TripAdvisor, The Lonely Planet, blogs […]
