Sha Lin Noodle house is a popular knife shaved noodles house a few stores west from another well-known Peaceful Restaurant. They expanded and relocated (not far from its original location). However, it remains forever busy and is a crowd favorite for after church goers – we occasionally find ourselves here for a quite bite after service at Tenth Church.
The restaurant is modest, with prompt service, and noodles pumping out non-stop.
Flavored Beef & Tripe with Spicy Sauce 8.95: Spicy thinly sliced beef tripe and tenderloin drizzled with sesame and chili oil. A flavorful cold appetizer punctuated with cilantro.
Zhajiang Pork with Cucumber on Dragging Noodles 7.95: Yellow soybean paste and sauce fried and mixed into this bowl of soup-less noodles. It was salty with minced pork and shredded cucumbers.
Fried Dragging Noodles 9.95: Basically it is thick pan-fried Shanghai noodles with pork. Salty and flat.
Pork and Chive dumplings: Boiled dumplings. Nothing you can’t buy frozen from T&T and make at home.
Overall the food is modest and flavors lacking complexity. You may find yourselves quite thirsty after indulging in a MSG filled bowl of soup. Pick your poison.
