Meinhardt Cafe is a supermarket located on Granville Street and 14th. It was surprising to see this sandwiched between clothing stores, but then again there is William-Sonoma across the street.
Meinhardt offers private labels, organic goods, artisan cheeses around the world.
There is a mini cafe Meinhardt Cafe that offers on-site bakery, sandwiches, deli, soups, and cooked meals much similar to Urban Fare on a smaller scale. But after witnessing such unclean practices… I think i’ll skip on the munchies…
As expected prices isn’t what you would see from Superstore; It is quite overpriced. I saw chips ranging between $3 to $6! Those chips better be fat-reducing with every bite!
They offer cooking classes: 30 minute meals, Italian classics, pastry / desserts… No prices were specified so you better call to inquire.
Many locals shop here for conveniences but it isn’t for the friendly or cheerful staff. Overall if you are in the area, need a quick stock of supplies, or pressed for time Meinhardt may not be a bad choice. Then again I’m not in that much of a dire need for milk or bread!
