Kin Kao Thai Kitchen on Commercial Drive, Vancouver serves up authentic modern Thai food in a simple yet refreshing space. The space is designed by Scott and Scott Architects with blue accents counters and floors with clean natural wood counter-tops and furniture. What to rave about it the robust flavors of spices of sweet, spicy and savory. I think I am in love.

Som Tam Thai / Papaya Salad 8: Green papaya salad in medium heat slowly lingers on your palate with a spicy dressing made of Thai chilies, fresh lime juice, fish sauce, tamarind, garlic with palm sugar and peanuts. Tomatoes and long beans are added for extra texture. Simply divine.
Panaeng Kai / Panaeng Curry Chicken 12: chicken breast with a coconut milk, panaeng curry paste, fine bean, peanut sauce, kaffir lime leaves, with palm sugar and fish sauce. You must order some rice to soak up every drop of the curry sauce. Medium heat is still a tad mild for us. Next time we will try hot (though I hope I don’t have to ask for a glass of milk)!
Phat Thai with Prawns 14: Pad Thai with tofu, rice noodles, bean sprouts, Chinese chives, crushed peanut and ground dried chili, egg, peanuts and tamarind sauce. Everything about this makes me fall in love with Pad Thai all over again.
Khao Neeo Mamuang / Mango Sticky Rice 6: fresh mango with white sticky rice and coconut milk. To be honest, I care less about the mango than I do about the coconut sticky rice. This dessert was missing the coconut flavor. Some coconut cream on top with some toasted sesame seeds would have definitely nailed it.
