The Mighty Kale is one of my all time favourite smoothies from Jugo Juice. This season, one of the fastest-rising cocktail trends over the past few years has been blending herbal and botanical ingredients with more traditional flavours, but this trend isn’t just for the 19 and older.
Say goodbye to artificial flavours and added sugars, the fresh and bright flavours of botanicals and herbs are the perfect addition to beverages, especially smoothies. With their highly varied flavours, aromas and health benefits they provide a warmth freshness that’s perfect for fall.
This fall, Jugo brought the popular cocktail trend to its smoothie line-up with the
Blueberry Basil smoothie. The superfood smoothie is only 205 calories and is packed with the anti-oxidant power of berries, is brightened up by the herbal flavour of fresh basil. It is available until November 14th.
Interview with Jamie Vadori, Jugo Juice‘s Director of Marketing
N: What values and beliefs define your brand?
J: Healthy doesn’t have to taste terrible. It’s all about making real vs artificial. We want to provide healthy choices on the go.
N: What makes your business unique in the market? Vs Booster Juice etc
J: Frozen fruits with fresh kale, spinach instead of sugar laced sorbets. Frozen fruits doesn’t diminish nutritional value.
N: Who is your target audience? Do you have established buyer personas for each of your target customer groups?
J: Our target groups of customers are 18-80. Jugo Juice is fit for everyone looking for a healthy and active lifestyle. For example we also sponsor Juice Juice 10k marathons, yoga-thons, etc. to motivate people.
N: Given the blueberry smoothie is only available for a limited time – are they other herbal blends that are launching after nov 14?
J: Yes, the next seasonal drink is the Mega Matcha which will be available on November 15. The Mega Matcha includes pineapples, almond milk and vanilla whey protein (Vega substitute available).
N: Are you planning on rolling out more seasonal products?
J: Each year there are five seasonal beverages.
N:Where do you see health food trends going in 2018?
J: more customization to individual tastes.
