ICY Bar Vancouver | Shaved Ice Dessert, Bubble Tea etc 利源冰店

[image_with_animation image_url=”13938″ animation=”Fade In” img_link_target=”_self”]

ICY Bar Vancouver 利源冰店 is located on Kingsways. Not too far from it is another shaved ice dessert shop called IcePik Shavery. Icy Bar and IcePik are not the same. ICY Bar menu includes a wide variety of icy desserts to help you beat the heat! Aside from Icy Bar’s signature mix icy plates, there are also bubble teas, slushes, potted soil plant puddings, tofu puddings and also more traditional Chinese desserts like black rice with coconut Milk.

There are plenty of free street parking on Kingsway and the side streets. Inside is small but still quite roomy. The green walls perhaps isn’t the best for photos. But if you are lucky to be seated at one of the white tables, a top down flat-lay may turn out ok. I’m sure you can work all those MySpace angles!

It’s refreshing to beat the heat with some natural flavors and fresh fruits. I especially like the mochi and mango poppers as toppings. It’s summer in a bowl.

We tried a variety of bubble tea and slush. I liked the Ferrero Rocher. It pretty much tastes like chocolate milk with some grounded chocolate for texture. Fresh Taro Bubble Tea was a bit light tasting. Mango Slush was my favorite. Not too sweet and made with fresh mangoes. I would recommended getting half sweet.

Black Rice with Coconut Milk 椰汁黑糯米: This is a hot dessert soup and is one of my favorites. Black rice is good for women’s health in general. I like the creaminess with some texture. Added coconut milk makes it very soothing. This is one of my go to fall/winter desserts.

Tea Egg 茶葉蛋: Hard-boiled eggs with the subtle flavor of star anise, cinnamon and soy flavor. The deep brown hues comes from of black tea and soy. I love eggs. Runny, hard, soft or fried. I love them all.

Chocolate Honey Toast 巧克力金磚: An impressive tower of thick toast smothered in chocolate, honey, and condensed milk. Also available in mango honey toast, strawberry, peanut butter, nutella, red bean green tea ice cream, and original thick toast.

Plant Pudding 盆栽布丁:

  1. Original 原味
  2. Durian 榴蓮
  3. Mango 芒果
  4. Oreo 奧利奧
  5. Tiramisu 提拉米蘇

My favorite was Tiramisu and Mango. I like the thick whipped cream and that it wasn’t overly sweet. The presentation in a soil plant pot is super cute.

Tofu Pudding 豆腐花: The tofu pudding itself was pretty smooth but not as silky as I prefer. But overall still quite tasty and unsweetened. Customize your own toppings. The toppings are the same as those used for mix icy shaved ice dessert.

Pancake Series 班戟: Color pillows of creamy sweetness. Wrapped inside each pancake are fresh fruits such as

  • Strawberry 草莓
  • Mango 芒果
  • Durian 榴蓮
  • Taro 芋頭

Again, I liked mango the best. If you are a fan of durian, than you will like the creaminess of durian with whipped cream.

I quite like Icy Bar and would definitely come back. I like variety of choices of either shaved ice desserts, bubble tea or even traditional Chinese dessert soup. It is a good place to order a few things to share. Service is prompt and prices are reasonable.
