If you’ve been to Garden City Hot Pot Richmond 新鏞記火鍋 for lunch then you will also be a fan of their hot pot dinner menu. It is not AYCE where you can order unlimited fatty beef but rather a la carte at higher prices. What Garden City Hot Pot Richmond offer is fresh meat and ingredients. Choose from dual soup pots: Mala spicy soup base, chicken herbal, pig stomach and pepper etc. The soup are flavorful and there wasn’t too msg (at least I wasn’t trying to drink the ocean).
Sauce Cart is brought to your table and prepared for you: Ginger, garlic, cilantro, jalapeno, scallions, green onion, chili oil, sesame sauce, satay sauce, etc.
Fresh Ostrich Meat: Fresh tender pieces of bird which tastes a lot like chicken.
Fatty beef: you can really tell how fresh a cow is by the color of its meat in its raw state. Well marbled and red in color.
I love fresh veggies. Tong Ho is a rather pungent Chinese vegetable that not everyone likes. But I am that annoying person that loves to cook my veggies first!

Fresh Fish Slices: This is one of my favorite stable item whenever I have hotpot.
Rice wine marinated chicken wings: well marinated chicken wings. Something about the wings always stays tender even after being forgotten at the bottom of the pot.
Fish Balls, Squid Balls, Shrimp Balls Combo: Each seasoned slightly different and still in a soft tender state. Much better than store bought frozen.
Bean curd: Another great filler item to soak up the soup.
Hot pot here at Garden City Hot Pot is always peaceful, clean and fresh. There is never a rush for your stuff yourselves and get out. In the end you pay about the same as you would in an AYCE restaurant and remember it’s about quality not quantity.
