After our visit to Tosokchon (the best Ginseng Chicken) and Gyeongbokgung Palace how could we not tour Ewha Womens University Fashion Street and see where our good friend Dee works. On the way there, we passed by this recently built mall YES APM which also had Mango and Zara outlets. While contemplating whether we had enough time to do a little shopping, the smell of baked eggs custards and banana cake pastries distracted us.
It is Korea Street Food by two super friendly Korean ladies making these to die for egg pastries and banana cakes. These little babies puts your local Egg McMuffins to shame. Inside these Egg Custards are sold boiled runny yolks encased inside the soft and moist cake scones. The buttery texture of the cake mixed with the creamy yolk is heavenly. The Banana Cake offers a baked whole banana wrapped with a crepe like pastry. It is the sweetness of the soft baked banana gelling with the flour dough that makes you rethink the definition of street food. Not everything needs to be greasy and fried in order to be delicious!
This is delicious stall is located along the Ewha Womens University Fashion Street where numbers of stalls sells South Korea fashion goodies: clothing, shoes, accessories for young women. Majority of the support comes from University students the nearby campus!
