Catfe Vancouver is a Cat Cafe located on the second floor of International Village Mall in Chinatown – “Tinseltown” (above Starbucks). It is Vancouver’s first cat cafe and felines are flying off the shelves! Although this is the first one in Vancouver, Cat Cafes has been popular in Asia for awhile now. To visit, you will need to make reservations to play with the kittens. Current wait time is up to a month. Walk ins are welcome, but space is limited. The cafe will only allow 16 people at a time in the cat lounge. They don’t want to overwhelm the cats.
It took Catfe a long time to iron out all the City Bylaws before they could open. Catfe is more an adoption clinic than a cafe itself. Customers are really more interested in playing with the cats than they are about a perfect brew. For a $5 fee with any cafe purchase, you can play and pet these fur babies. Otherwise admission is $8.
