Bubble Waffle Cafe is a Chinese cafe in Vancouver serving popular street food like curry fish balls, chicken nuggets, stinky tofu, and egg waffles. They also have fish soup noodles and bubble tea.
I was invited by ChineseBites along with few fellow bloggers for menu tasting at Bubble Waffle Cafe in Kerrisdale.
The Kerrisdale location on 2279 West 41st Avenue has patio seating outside and plenty tables inside. Turnaround is high, so you are never waiting too long in line.
Stinky Tofu: It’s an acquire taste and not for everyone. Deep fried and topped with a salty fermented sauce.
Takoyaki: These deep fried octopus balls are doughy and has tiny morsels of octopus inside. It is topped with bonito flakes and makes a good snack to go with your boba.
Bubble Tea: Milk tea, green tea, black tea, slushies and smoothies are on the menu. They are very sweet and I’d recommended asking for half-sweet!
Fish Soup Noodles: customize your hot bowl of noodles with your choice of soup base, noodles and toppings. I usually order Preserved egg and fish soup with vermicelli, sliced beef brisket, beancurd puffs and fish filets. Pictured above is a laksa soup!
Fish Sui Mai: 6 pieces of bouncy dumplings. The dumpling itself is quite bland and relies mostly on the soy sauce.
Bubble Waffles: There are a couple of flavors available – cheesecake, matcha, and cinnamon, chocolate and oreo. The egg waffles were sweet and I would recommend the original classic.
