Blue Canoe Waterfront in Steveston, Richmond is always one of my go to places for a beer, a view, and a casual lunch. Service here is spotty – sometimes prompt, sometimes not so good. The food is decent and fair despite what the general consensus says on the world of internet. They’ve now put up some plexiglass on their patio and you can enjoy the space even during the winter months. In the summer, it’s a bit hot with the greenhouse effect.
seafood trio salad 17.99: salmon, prawns, mussels, artisan greens, apples, fennel, red onion, avocado, blue cheese, toasted almonds, citrus vinaigrette. The salmon was a tad overcooked, but everything else was perfect. I liked pairing fennel, apples with citrus acidity.
crab & avocado sandwich 17.99: PEI crab, cucumber, tomato, crusty bread, with handcut fries or wild greens. This was really good. The creamy avocado mixed with some crab meat was very refreshing. It felt like a treat without the grease.
Blue Canoe Waterfront really the place is not 63% bad as urbanspoon suggests. And if you are simply looking for a spot to enjoy your favorite brew, a beer is a beer with a great view!
