It’s been a busy few months since we were last in Montreal. I’ve finally gotten around to sorting all my photos from the trip I took with the Food Bloggers of Canada Conference. The trip was valuable and I’ve a learnt a lot and hope you can prepare for your next conference also! We stayed at Le Westin Montreal – from Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
Le Westin Montreal is one of my favorite places to stay in Montreal. Conveniently located at the corner of St. Antoine and St. Pierre in Old Montreal. It is also linked with the Palais des Congrès and the underground city which makes travelling to Montreal in the winter time much easier.
The hotel is a quick 30 to 45 minute cab ride from the airport and has a unique indoor driveaway to keep you from the blistering cold. The glass bottom swimming pool above leads to a nice daylight filled pool.
I always make it a point to relax there when I arrive from the airport. I took about an hour to unwind and have some tea.
The decor is clean and modern. It is comfortable when you step inside. Enough natural sunlight and comfortable seating. We were lucky to get the side with a view of Palais des Congrès.
I like bathrooms with marble and a nice waterfall shower head. Good water pressure and endless hot water is equally important. Plush towels and robes enhances the experience.
Le Westin Montreal is within walking distance to Chinatown, Saint Catherines Street and some serious tourist attractions – Vieux-Montréal and the Old Port. It is also close to restaurants and bars nearby.
The Metro subway is just a few steps away and linked underground. Don’t feel like taking transit? Uber it! It is easy to use on your smartphone. Just call up the app. Have you signed up for Uber yet? Sign up now and get FREE Uber credits. Try it! It’s so much easier than calling a cab!
The best part? As a Starwood Preferred Guest, I get to enjoy late check outs and complimentary in-room Internet access and complimentary in-room bottled water.

Travelling in the Winter is no joke. Unless of course you are going to somewhere tropical with a beach front! If you have been following along on Instagram with our #instanomssmontreal, then you will likely know how cold Montreal was. And we haven’t even been […]
What To Eat in Montreal? | Best Brunch Must Eat Travel Guide
What To Eat in Montreal? What to do and where is the best restaurants is always on our minds. Last time we were in Montreal, we had no itinerary, no “Must Eat List”, and no “10 Things to do in Montreal” plan. This time, I find myself combing thru TripAdvisor and Yelp, geo-tagging every restaurant, cafe and little boutique. Perhaps, it comes with age. Perhaps, occupational hazard. I’m always trying to find the next best thing. Yet, I always go back to comfort. It’s like having 20 pairs of shoes but always wearing the two.
Montreal is a rich city and quite culturally diverse in terms of culinary gluttony. Depending on how long your stay in Montreal is, I’m sure you will leave bellies full and satisfied. Below is a list of Montreal good eats broken down my meals of the day, cafes, just plain gourmandism.

Cafe Myriade Montreal has a few different coffee shop locations. There is one inside Club Monaco that is Instagram worthy. Coffee and clothes? Yes please! But you can go to the OG on McKay off Saint Catherine’s street and just chill. Myriade Cafe is a cafe from owner Anthony Benda.
I’m so glad today’s roast was earthy and velvety. Americano for him and cappuccino for me.

Omnivore Comptoir Grill is a Middle Eastern fresh salad and grilled meat restaurant on Boul St-Laurent Montreal. Traveling for work or pleasure is always hard on your body. You are thrown off from your fitness routine. This gluttony vacation was no exception. While we love trying new restaurants like Toque, Park and L’Express; sometimes I just really miss a healthy meal full of greens.
Omnivore offers vegan, vegetarian and meat options fit for a flexi-Tarian like me. They have a great selection of salads, beef or chicken skewers and also fresh sandwiches.
This is a very busy lunch spot constantly with people coming in and out. Seat yourself and order at the counter. Space is super tight and tables are meant to be shared.
Fish sandwich 6.50: Fish, green pesto garlic sauce, fennel, tahini cabbage. Nice subtle flavors for a lighter Kaftas Sandwich.
Carnivore Platter: three skewers of beef or chicken, hummus, labneh…. The hummus is more acidic when compared to Nuba Labenese Restaurant in Vancouver. Tasty nonetheless. Meat is flavorful, well seasoned and nicely charred.
No doubt this place is one of our favorites and you should definitely add it to your list of places to eat in Montreal.
Omnivore is a brisk walk from the Metro. Approximately 30 min walk to Sherbroke and Saint Catherine’s. Or if you are tired from walking? Uber your way back to the hotel or your next destination.
